Pastor John Tohline

Pastor John grew up in a Christian household but wasn't saved until he was 31 years old.  Soon after he was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit he preached his first sermon.   This made him realize that he was no preacher so he stayed in the business world.  In 1996 his Pastor asked him to teach an adult Bible study.  He soon realized that the Lord was calling and anointing him to be a teacher of the word.  He graduated from the "Rhema Correspondence Bible School" and the Oral Robert's University "Ministry Training and Development Institute" and was ordained as a "Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ" in 2003.  He served as Associate Pastor for 10 years in Massachusetts before  God called him and his wife Kay to move to Colorado.  He has served VCF as Associate Pastor since 2019 and is part of the rotating preaching staff.

Pastor John and his wife Kay, who has a passion for gardening, have two children who are older than they want to admit. 

His favorite Bible verse is "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."  2 Corinthians 5:21

The passage that has had the greatest impact on his life is Psalms 1:1-3 "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."
